Before you start

  • You must be an Admin or Owner in your Blinq workspace to set up the Salesforce integration.

  • You will need a Salesforce account with System Administrator permissions, or a custom profile with API Enabled, Author Apex, and Manage Connected Apps permissions.

  • The Salesforce integration is available on Blinq Business and Enterprise plans.

Connecting Salesforce

  1. In the Blinq dashboard, navigate to Settings in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select the Integrations tab.

  3. Click Connect on the Salesforce integration.

  1. A pop-up window will open. Sign in to your Salesforce account using administrator credentials.

  2. If you have access to multiple Salesforce accounts, select the account you'd like to connect to Blinq.

  3. Once authorized, close the pop-up window. You'll be returned to your Blinq dashboard with the Salesforce integration settings visible.

Salesforce is now connected!

Configuration options in Blinq

Once connected, you can control how Blinq syncs data to Salesforce. All options can be toggled on or off at any time from Settings > Integrations > Salesforce.

Export contacts as Contacts or Leads

Choose whether Blinq contacts are exported to Salesforce as Contacts or Leads. This setting can be changed at any time in your integration settings.

Note: Once a Blinq contact has been exported to Salesforce, it stays in its original type. A contact exported as a Lead will not be re-exported as a Contact, and vice versa.

Automatically update changes to Blinq contacts in Salesforce

When enabled, any changes you make to a contact's details in Blinq are automatically updated in Salesforce. Your CRM stays current without manual re-entry.

Sync contact notes

When enabled, notes added to a contact in Blinq are synced to Salesforce as Notes on the associated Contact or Lead record.

Sync contact tags

When enabled, tags applied to a contact in Blinq (including contact tags, workspace tags, and campaign tags) are synced to custom fields on the Salesforce record.

Automatically export new Blinq contacts to Salesforce

When enabled, every new contact captured in Blinq is automatically exported to Salesforce. When disabled, contacts can still be exported manually on a per-contact basis from All Company Contacts.

Configuring Salesforce

To get the most out of the Blinq integration, there are two things to set up on the Salesforce side: enabling Notes so Blinq can sync them, and adding Blinq's custom fields to your Contact or Lead page layout so they're visible in Salesforce.

This configuration can be accessed in the Setup Options in Salesforce.

Enable Notes in Salesforce

Blinq syncs contact notes to Salesforce as Notes on the associated record. Notes must be enabled in your Salesforce account. If they're not, note sync will not work.

  1. In Salesforce, click the Setup gear icon in the top right.

  2. In the Setup search bar, type Notes Settings.

  3. Check Enable Notes and save your changes.

Add Blinq fields to your page layout

When you connect Blinq, the following custom fields are automatically created in your Salesforce account. They won't appear in your Contact or Lead views until you add them to your page layout.

Note: For additional guidance on editing page layouts, see the Salesforce Help Centre.

The following Blinq are fields created automatically in Salesforce:

  • Blinq Contact Tags: Contact-level tags applied in Blinq.

  • Blinq Workspace Tags: Workspace-level tags.

  • Blinq Campaign Tags: Campaign tags from linked Blinq campaigns.

  • Blinq Campaigns: Campaign names.

  • Blinq Card Link: A direct link to the contact's Blinq card.

You'll also want to add Notes to your page layout. Blinq contact notes sync directly into the native Notes feature in Salesforce, but it may not appear on Contact or Lead records by default.

To add Blinq fields to your page layout:

  1. In Salesforce, click the Setup gear icon in the top right.

  2. In the Quick Find search box, type Object Manager.

  3. Select Lead or Contact depending on how you’d like to sync your Blinq contacts to Salesforce.

  4. Click Page Layouts in the left sidebar, then select the layout you want to update. You may see options to edit the page layout for different team views, or you can edit the generic page layout.

  5. In the layout editor, find the Fields section in the palette on the left. Search for Blinq to filter the custom fields.

  6. Drag each Blinq field from the palette onto the layout in the position where you'd like it to appear.

  7. To add Notes, scroll to the Related Lists section of the palette and drag Notes & Attachments onto the layout.

  8. Click Save.

Sharing contacts to Salesforce

Contacts are exported to Salesforce from Blinq > Contacts > All Company Contacts.

Your personal contacts are not exported to Salesforce unless they are shared with your team.

If a contact hasn't been shared with your organization yet, you can share it from the Share menu on the individual contact record via the dashboard or Blinq app.

Note: Contacts captured via a team card are automatically shared with your team: no manual sharing required.
