What happens when someone shares their card back to you

When someone shares their details back to you, they get their own personalized Blinq card instantly, no app download required.

You'll see their details appear in your contacts as usual. Behind the scenes, they've also received a temporary Blinq card built from the information they just shared. It's a small extra nudge that helps them experience Blinq firsthand, and makes it easy for them to turn it into a full account whenever they're ready.

What you can do

  • Get an instant, personalized card the moment you share your details back through a Blinq share-back or lead capture form

  • Share your new card further using its QR code, so you can start collecting your own contacts right away

  • Receive your card and QR code by email, plus a notification email for every new contact your temporary card collects

  • Turn your temporary card into a full Blinq account whenever you're ready, bringing your card details and any contacts you've collected with you

Who can use this

This works automatically whenever someone shares their details back through a Blinq share-back or lead capture form, on web, iOS, or Android. No Blinq account is needed to receive a temporary card, and no paid plan is required on either side.

How it works

Here's what each side sees when someone shares their details back to you.

What you (the sharer) sees

  • You share your card however you like: QR code, NFC tap, link, wallet pass, App Clip, or NameDrop. The other person doesn't need the app to receive your details.

  • You can attach a share-back or lead capture form to your card, so their details come back structured (name, email, phone, company, and any custom fields you add).

  • When they share their details back, they appear in your Blinq contacts as usual.

  • If your workspace has a connected CRM with auto-export turned on, that new contact flows to your CRM automatically.

What the recipient sees

  • They open your card in their browser, with no app needed. The page adapts to iOS, Android, or web.

  • They can save your contact straight to their phone.

  • If they share their own details back through the form, they instantly get their own personalized temporary Blinq card, with a QR code so they can start collecting contacts right away.

  • Blinq emails them a copy of their card and QR code, plus a fresh email every time their temporary card brings in a new contact.

  • They're nudged to claim it. When they tap "Get Blinq," they create a free account, and their temporary card and every contact they've collected carry over automatically.

Note: If someone shares their details back to more than one person using the same email address, Blinq keeps it as the same temporary card. All the contacts they collect along the way stay together and carry over once they claim it.

Why it helps

Recipients get to try real networking with Blinq, sharing their own card and collecting contacts, before they commit to downloading an app or creating an account. And when they do decide to sign up, nothing they've already built gets left behind.

FAQ

Do I need a Blinq account to get a temporary card?
No. Sharing your details back through a share-back or lead capture form creates your temporary card automatically, no account needed.

Will the person I shared my details with see my updates if I later create a full account?
Yes. When you claim your card and turn it into a full Blinq card, your details sync back to the person who first shared with you, so the contact they saved for you stays up to date. The contacts you collected on your temporary card stay with you too.

Does my temporary card expire if I don't claim it?
After 3 days, a temporary card expires, which means it stops working as an active card you can keep sharing. It isn't deleted, though. You can still claim it at any time, and your card details and every contact you collected come with you.
