Who can use this
Scanning a LinkedIn QR code is available on all plans.
Works in the Blinq mobile app on iOS and Android. It uses your phone's camera, so it isn't available on the web dashboard.
How to use it
Open the Blinq app on your phone.
Tap the Scan icon.
Point your camera at the LinkedIn QR code the other person is showing you (they can locate their LinkedIn QR code from the LinkedIn mobile app. This is the code found under their profile in LinkedIn, not Blinq.
Blinq reads the code, pulls their LinkedIn profile URL, and creates a contact with their name, job title, and company.
Blinq keeps enriching the contact in the background, adding details like a profile photo, email address, and phone number when they're available.
If the scan can't be enriched, for example if you're offline or the profile is private, Blinq opens a quick add/edit screen so you can fill in the rest yourself.
Tip: Ask the person to open their LinkedIn app and tap the QR code icon on their own profile before you scan. That's the code Blinq reads.
Why it helps
A LinkedIn connection request leaves you with a pending request and nothing else to follow up on. Scanning the same QR code with Blinq gives you a complete contact you can tag, add notes to, and sync straight to your CRM before the conversation is even over.
FAQ
What happens if Blinq can't find all of someone's details?
You'll still get a contact with whatever information Blinq could confirm. You can add anything missing yourself from the contact's edit screen.
Does this work with any LinkedIn QR code?
It works with public LinkedIn profile QR codes. Private profiles may not enrich fully, so you may need to fill in a few details manually.
Can I do this from the Blinq web dashboard?
No. This feature uses your phone's camera, so it's only available in the Blinq mobile app on iOS and Android.
