Hidden fields on lead capture forms

Tag every lead from a campaign with the CRM metadata it needs, source, region, topic, or any custom code, without adding a field anyone has to fill in.

Hidden fields let admins attach behind-the-scenes key-value data to every contact captured under a campaign or template. They're invisible to your reps and to the people filling in your form, and they map straight into your CRM, so leads route and attribute correctly without any manual tagging.

Good to know: Hidden fields apply to every contact captured under the campaign or template, however it's captured, a scan, a badge scan, a manual add, or a skipped form, and even contacts you bulk-add later. The lead form doesn't need to be enabled or customised.

What you can do

  • Attach hidden key-value fields (like lead_source = gsx_2026) to every contact from a campaign or template.

  • Keep them invisible to reps and to the people filling in your form.

  • Map each hidden field to a CRM field, including dropdown or picklist fields.

  • Edit a hidden field any time, during or after a campaign, and have your change re-sync to every contact already captured.

Who can use this

Available on Blinq Business plans. Workspace admins configure hidden fields on the web dashboard.

Once set, hidden fields apply to leads captured on iOS, Android, App Clip, and the web.

Add hidden fields to a template or campaign

  1. In the Blinq dashboard, open the template or campaign you want, and go to its Custom Lead Form.

  2. Find the Hidden fields section and select Add field.

  3. Pick an existing hidden field, or create a new one by entering a key (for example, lead_source) and a value (for example, gsx_2026).

  4. Save or publish. Every contact captured under that template or campaign now carries the hidden field.

Map hidden fields to your CRM

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations and open your CRM's field mapper.

  2. Map the hidden field's key to the CRM field you want it to land in. This can be a text field, or a dropdown or picklist field.

  3. Save. New and updated contacts sync with the hidden field populated.

Note: You can map a hidden field to a CRM field of a different type, but Blinq shows a warning, and if the CRM rejects the value that field's sync can fail. Values are free text, so they need to match your CRM's expected values exactly (watch for typos on picklist values).

Editing and overrides

Editing a hidden field re-syncs every contact already captured under that campaign or template, so fixing a value after an event takes seconds instead of editing contacts one by one. Deleting a hidden field stops it syncing.

If the same key is set on both a template and a campaign, the campaign's value wins.

Why it helps

  • Route leads to the right team automatically, for example by region or event, using your CRM's rules.

  • Attribute every lead to its source or campaign without relying on flat tags.

  • Add or fix metadata after an event in seconds, instead of clicking through contacts in your CRM.

What if a template and a campaign set the same field?
The campaign's value overrides the template's.
