Exporting Blinq contacts to Marketo

Send your Blinq contacts straight into Marketo, with tags, campaigns, and enrichment data included.

The Blinq Marketo integration connects your Blinq contacts directly to Marketo. Contacts captured in Blinq flow into Marketo automatically, complete with tags and campaign attribution. No manual export, no re-typing details your team already captured.

What you'll need:

A Blinq admin account, setup is admin-only

▶ A Blinq Business and Enterprise plan

A Marketo account with Admin access, specifically the Users & Roles and LaunchPoint sections

At least one company contact in your workspace. See Managing Team Contacts to add one

Note: The Marketo integration is available on Blinq Business and Enterprise plans. View pricing →

What syncs to Marketo

Once connected, Blinq keeps the following in sync with each Marketo Lead record:

  • Contact details: name, job title, company, email, phone, and website

  • Contact tags, workspace tags, and campaign tags, saved as custom Marketo fields

  • Campaign membership, when a Blinq campaign is linked to a Marketo Program

Good to know: Marketo doesn't have an equivalent to Blinq's Notes, so contact notes and AI Notetaker summaries stay in Blinq and aren't synced across.

Connecting Marketo

Marketo doesn't support the one-click login used by Blinq's HubSpot and Salesforce integrations. Instead, your Marketo admin creates a set of API credentials inside Marketo, then enters them into Blinq.

Step 1: Create your credentials in Marketo

  1. In Marketo, go to Admin, then Users & Roles.

  2. Select Roles, then create a new Role with API access permissions (or reuse an existing API-enabled role).

  3. Select Users, then create a new API-only User and assign it the Role from step 2.

  4. Go to Admin, then Integration, then LaunchPoint.

  5. Select New, then New Service.

  6. Choose Custom as the Service type, name it something recognisable such as "Blinq", and attach the API-only user you created in step 3.

  7. Select the new service, then View Details to reveal its Client ID and Client Secret.

  8. Go to Admin, then Integration, then Web Services, and copy the Identity URL listed under the REST API section.

You'll need all three values (Client ID, Client Secret, and Identity URL) for the next step.

Step 2: Connect Marketo in Blinq

  1. In the Blinq dashboard, navigate to Settings in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select the Integrations tab.

  3. Click Connect on the Marketo integration.

  4. Enter the Client ID, Client Secret, and Identity URL from Step 1.

  5. Save. There's no separate test step, your credentials are validated as soon as you submit them, and Marketo connects right away if they're correct.

Marketo is now connected.

Configuration options in Blinq

Once connected, you can control how Blinq syncs data to Marketo at any time from Settings > Integrations > Marketo.

Automatically update contacts in Marketo. When enabled, changes you make to a contact's details in Blinq automatically update the matching Lead in Marketo.

Sync contact tags. When enabled, contact, workspace, and campaign tags sync to custom fields on the Marketo Lead record.

Auto export new contacts. When enabled, every new Blinq contact is automatically exported to Marketo as a new Lead. When disabled, export contacts manually from All Company Contacts.

Campaign sync. Link a Blinq campaign to a Marketo Program so leads captured during that campaign are added automatically.

Contact de-duplication. Always on. Blinq matches contacts to existing Marketo Leads by email address exactly, and updates the matching Lead rather than creating a duplicate. A contact needs an email address to export, contacts without one won't sync to Marketo.

Sharing contacts to Marketo

Contacts are exported to Marketo from Blinq > Contacts > All Company Contacts.

Your personal contacts are not exported to Marketo unless they are shared with your team. If a contact hasn't been shared with your organization yet, you can share it from the Share menu on the individual contact record via the dashboard or Blinq app.

Note: Contacts captured via a team card are automatically shared with your team. No manual sharing required.

FAQ

Do I need a Marketo developer account to connect? No. Your Marketo admin creates the connection credentials directly inside your company's existing Marketo instance, the same way they would for any other custom integration.

What plan do I need to use the Marketo integration? The Marketo integration is available on Business and Enterprise plans.

Does Blinq sync notes or AI Notetaker summaries to Marketo? No. Marketo doesn't have an equivalent object for storing notes on a Lead record, so notes and AI Notetaker summaries stay in Blinq.

What happens if a contact already exists in Marketo? Blinq matches on email address to find and update the existing Lead rather than creating a duplicate.

Does a contact need an email address to sync? Yes. Blinq matches Marketo Leads on email address, so a contact without one won't export.

Can I connect Marketo alongside another CRM? Yes. You can connect Marketo at the same time as HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics, or any other supported integration. A captured lead syncs to every connected platform.
