Adding a contact to a campaign after the fact

Attribute a contact to the right campaign, even if you add them after the event is over.

Real events rarely fit neatly inside a start and end date. If a contact was created late, imported, or captured outside a campaign's window, you can still add them to that campaign, no rescanning and no lead form required.

What you can do

  • Add an existing contact to any campaign you belong to, whether it's upcoming, running, or already finished

  • Add contacts straight from the campaign's own page on your dashboard, or from your Contacts view on the Blinq app

  • Select more than one contact, or more than one campaign, at once

  • See which team member each retroactively-added lead is connected with, and a breakdown of leads captured by team member

Who can use this

Campaigns are part of Blinq Business and Enterprise. Any team member can add contacts to a campaign they're a member of, from the Blinq app on iOS or Android or from the dashboard. Blinq only shows you campaigns you already belong to, so you won't see or accidentally add a contact to a campaign you're not part of. When a contact is added, Blinq automatically attributes it to the correct team member who owns that contact.

How to use it

From your dashboard

  1. Go to Campaigns and open the campaign you want to add contacts to.

  2. Scroll to the Leads captured section and find Add lead.

  3. In the Contacts field, search for and select one or more contacts.

  4. Select Add to campaign.

Each contact then appears in the leads list marked Added, along with the team member they're connected with and the date. Scroll further down to Leads by team members for a count of how many leads each rep has captured for this campaign.

From your Contacts view

  1. Open your Contacts list, on the Blinq app or your dashboard.

  2. Open the contact you want to add to a campaign.

  3. Choose the option to Add campaign, then select one or more campaigns from the list. You'll only see campaigns you're a member of.

  4. Click Add contact. The contact is attached immediately.

Note: Adding a contact to a campaign only updates their campaign membership, no other contact fields are touched. If a contact should belong to more than one campaign, select every campaign you need before you confirm.

Why it helps

You don't have to extend a campaign's dates just to fit in contacts captured late or offline, and your event reporting reflects who actually attended, not just who was scanned inside a specific time window. Attribution stays accurate too, since every retroactively-added lead is still tied to the team member who connected with them.

FAQ

Does adding a contact to a campaign after the fact fill in that campaign's custom lead form for them?
No. Adding an existing contact to a campaign only updates their campaign membership. None of their other contact details change. The custom lead form only appears when a contact is first created, through a scan or manual entry, so it isn't applied retroactively when you attach an existing contact later.

Can I add a contact to a campaign that has already ended?
Yes. You can add a contact to a campaign whether it's upcoming, in progress, or already finished.

Can I add several contacts to a campaign at once?
Yes. From the campaign's Add lead retroactively panel, search and select multiple contacts before confirming.
